Yanni Hufnagel discovered his passion for basketball at a very young age. He has always enjoyed reading books about coaching. In high school, he was in the school basketball team and an occasional commentator during local games at a television station in Scarsdale, New York where he grew up. He did several other smalltime jobs including serving as basketball manager at the Cornell University where he did his undergraduate studies. He also worked with New Jersey Nets for a few months as a summer intern. Hufnagel later served as assistant basketball coach at the University of Oklahoma from where he graduated with a master’s degree in 2010.

Yanni Hufnagel coached the Harvard men’s basketball team alongside Tommy Amaker for 4 years. He was also the team’s recruiter, thanks to his remarkable ability to identify potential in a player.The team’s performance improved tremendously under his guidance. He also coached the basketball teams of the University of California, Berkley and Vanderbilt. In April 2016, Yanni Hufnagel was appointed assistant coach of Nevada Wolf Pack, the men’s basketball team at the University of Nevada where he works to date.He is one of the best recruiters in the U.S. His amazing talent and vast experience in coaching have seen him receive many job offers from some of the biggest basketball teams in the U.S.
